The Factory Dress, Merchant & Mills Sewing Pattern UK 20-28

Inspired by working women, with a dash of 1920s style, the Factory Dress is a relaxed everyday dress with a simple, utilitarian feel. Designed to slip easily over the head, it features practical pockets, a neat collar and ready-rolled sleeves.

This version also includes the option to make a top, finished with a small slit at the front.

The Factory Dress has an easy, relaxed fit through the body, so simply use your bust measurement to choose your pattern size.

This is a multi-size paper pattern supplied in an envelope and includes UK sizes 20–28.

Suggested Fabrics:

Linen is an ideal choice, but you could also use lightweight corduroy and wool, 4–8oz denim, cotton poplin, hemp/cotton blends, Tencel, Tencel/linen blends and 4–6oz sanded cotton twill.

Fabric Requirements:

Requirements are suitable for fabrics with or without nap.

You will also need:

• Matching thread.
• Lightweight interfacing for the collar and facing – allow 0.40m.
• Optional lining fabric for the inner pockets. These can also be cut from the main fabric.
