Layer Grit is perfect for most full-grown birds. Birds lack that great grind we get with teeth, so they need some mechanism to break down food. Grit in the gizzard is how our feathered friends “chew.” The key is matching the correct grit size to the size of your birds. Think Goldilocks, not too big and not too small. Just right.
Ingredients
Insoluble Crushed Quartzite and/or Granite
Feeding Guidelines
Offer Layer Grit in a separate dish, free-choice, for birds to consume as they need. Birds self-regulate grit consumption. For bantams or smaller hens, layer grit may be too large. These birds can remain on Grower Grit indefinitely.
